Gatt, Farrugia choose squads

After naming the provisional squads few days ago, Mr. Robert Gatt, the caretaker Coach of the National Team and Mr. Ray Farrugia, the Head Coach of the Under 21 National Squad issued the final list of the players in their respective teams.
Paul Fenech was the only Birkirkara player failing to make it to the final list of the National Squad. Gareth Sciberras and Shaun Bajada were retained. Other players who also failed to make it to the last eighteen were the Valletta goalkeeper Andrew Hogg, the Hibernians defender Edward Herrera, the Pieta Hotspurs youngster Zach Muscat and Etienne Barbara who is ruled out injured.
In the under 21 National Squad, Leighton Grech, the Birkirkara player that is loaned out to Vittoriosa was not named in the final list. The three Birkirkara players that made it to the final selection are Rowen Muscat and Ryan Scicluna. Terence Vella who is a Birkirkara player loaned to Mosta was also retained. The other players that were dropped are goalkeeper Daniel Balzan, the three defenders Cleaven Cassar, Ismahel Grech and Jonathan Xerri and midfielder Jorgen Pisani.
Therefore the final lists are:
Senior Team
Goalkeepers: Justin Haber, Henry Bonello.
Defenders: Andrei Agius, Alex Muscat, Clayton Failla, Jonathan Caruana, Luke Dimech, Roderick Briffa, Steve Borg.
Midfielders: Bjorn Kristensen, Edmond Agius, Gareth Sciberras, Ryan Fenech, Shaun Bajada
Forwards: Andre Schembri, Andrew Cohen, Daniel Bogdanovic, Michael Mifsud.
Under 21 Team:
Goalkeepers: Adrian Parnis, Steve Sultana
Defenders: Owen Bugeja, Yessous Camilleri, Robert Matthew Gauci, Luca Martinelli, Zach Muscat,
Midfielders: Jonathan Bajada, Clyde Borg, Triston Caruana, Sheldon Grech, Rowen Muscat, Ryan Scicluna
