Justin Haber was born on the 9 June 1981. He is considered as one of the best goalkeepers on the island, and joined Birkirkara for a second time in the 2013 January Transfer Market.
A product of Floriana, Justin was one of the few goalkeepers who managed to reach top levels both locally and on international basis as his various experience with foreign clubs made him easily one of the best Maltese goalkeepers on the island.
Called up to the Maltese National side in 2004, Haber was the regular goalkeeper for most of time, managing to perform memorable matches that will always be in his, and Maltese supporters memories.
After succeeding in all youth sections with Floriana, he had his first taste with the senior team of the Greens in 1998 when he was only seventeen years old. Before the end of the season he was loaned out to the top division Bulgarian team, PFC Dobrudzha Dobrich where he made three appearances.
With his hometown Floriana, between 1998 and 2002 he managed to make 23 appearances.
Season 2002-2003
After the Stripes released goalkeeper Robert Savic, the Club was seeking to find a decent replacement for gap left by Savic and the choice fell on Justin Haber, who joined our Club on July 2002.
Justin's first season was a memorable one as the Stripes clinched the Rothmans FA Trophy and the Super Cup which both were the second consecutive one for the Club.
Haber made his official debut with our Club in the UEFA Cup first qualifying round on the 15 August against Ukrainian's side Metalurg Zaporizhya where the latter defeated the Stripes with a 3-0 score.
In his first season with the Stripes, Justin made 27 appearances in the Premier League.
Season 2003-2004
Following an excellent 2002-2003 season, Justin had another excellent 2003-2004 season with the Stripes as this time the FA Trophy holders managed to win three major honours namely the Super Cup, the Super 5 Cup and the Lowenbau Cup, besides ending in the second place in the Premier League standings.
In this season, Haber made 28 appearances in the Premier League.
Season 2004-2005
In the Stripes' best era of their history, honours kept coming to Valley Road as Haber enjoyed yet another successful season with the Stripes who managed to win their third Rothmans FA Trophy and the Super Cup.
After the arrival of Saviour Darmanin, Justin Haber's first-team place was not always guaranteed but the established goalkeeper still managed to 19 appearances during the 2004-2005 Premier League campaign.
This was Haber's last season with our Club as the solid goalkeeper decided to continue his career outside Malta. During his thee-season spell with our Club, Haber made 74 appearances and managed to win seven major honours with our Club which are two FA Trophy's, three Super Cups, one Super 5 Cup and one Lowenbrau Cup.
Season 2005-2006
With Haber seeking a challenge outside our island, towards the end of 2005, Haber joined French-side US Quevilly.
His first experience outside our country was a memorable one as Haber managed to win a regular place with the French side as he managed to make 27 appearances.
Season 2006-2007
The season 2006-2007 saw Haber moving once again back to Malta this time to join the Premier League side of Marsaxlokk FC for the 2006-2007 season.
Haber's spell with the south-sea-siders was not the best as he failed to be the regular choice goalkeeper, however Marsaxlokk won their first Premier League ever in their history, with Justin making a total of 7 appearances.
Season 2007-2008
In the following season, in June 2007, it was announced that Haber had joined Greek side Haidari on a two-year contract. The club is based in a suburban town close to Athens and participates in the Greek Second Division. Haber made a total of 15 appearances.
Season 2008-2009
In July 2008 Haber joined Sheffield United on a two year deal. Haber had previously undergone a trial during United's 2006-2007 season in the Premier League, however, then manager Neil Warnock decided not to offer the Maltese keeper a contract.
However, Haber failed to make it to the Blades' First Team as the National goalkeeper had to look for a new experience in order to keep playing regular football.
Season 2009-2010
In August 2009, after failing to break into the Blades first team, Haber was allowed to join their sister club Ferencváros of Hungary, on loan until the end of the year where he made two appearances.
Season 2010-2011
In January of the following year Haber signed an 18 month contract with Ferencváros. Justin was a regular first team choice, and in the 2010/2011 season he helped his team to get a respectable 3rd place, and a chance to play in the Europa League. Haber made 12 appearances.
Season 2011-2012
For his next adventure, Haber signed for Greek club Kerkyra on the 5th July 2011, where he played in the Greek Super League and had 10 appearances.
Season 2012-2013
In Summer 2012, Justin returned to Malta where he joined promising club Mosta FC.
In the 2013 January Transfer Market, Birkirkara were looking for a top goalkeeper to challenge Reuben Gauci for his place and following what seemed to be an end-less saga, the Stripes managed to sign Justin Haber on Friday, 18 January.
Justin made his debut with the Stripes on Sunday 27 January in a goal-less draw against Sliema Wanderers to begin his adventure with our Club with a clean sheet.
Justin's first five months after re-joining our Club were excellent ones. The experience found in the National goalkeeper aided him to produce a five-star thirteen performances which were essential for the Stripes to clinch their fourth Premier League in their history.
To make it more memorable, this was Haber's first Premier League that he won as a regular goalkeeper. Also, this title meant that Haber won every domestic honour with our Club that Maltese football can offer.
Season 2013-2014
During the 2013-2014 season, Haber was once again the number one choice for Head Coach’s Mr. Paul Zammit. The National goalkeeper once again distinguished himself once again as the best Maltese goalkeeper.
Despite the disappointment of the BOV Premier League and the U*BET FA Trophy, Haber had the satisfaction of winning the BOV Super Cup in the beginning of the season.
During the 2013-2014 BOV Premier League campaign, Justin played thirty-two matches to be the most player that featured for Birkirkara in the competition.
The Birkirkara goalkeeper was voted as the best goalkeeper for the 2013-2014 season during the MFPA Awards.
Season 2014-2015
The 2014-2015 season turned to be a satisfactory one for Haber. He won two of the three domestic honours as the Stripes raised the curtain by winning the BOV Super Cup and closed it in style by winning the FA Trophy.
Haber was a regular choice once again as he made a total of thirty appearances in the BOV Premier League. He made twelve clean-sheets in this competition and another three in the FA Trophy, remarkable a clean-sheet in the semi-final and the final of the competition which was won by the Stripes for the fifth time in their history.
Before the end of the season, Justin Haber extended his contract with our Club by signing a three-year contract.
Season 2015-2016
With the Stripes signing Croatian goalkeeper Miroslav Kopric in the January 2016 Transfer Market, who was quick to leave a very good impression, Haber seemed to lose his regular place and the thirty-four year old goalkeeper sought a new experience. In the last day of January, he moved to Hibernians and brought to an end his second spell, of three years, with our Club.
Following a first successful spell from 2002 to 2005, Haber re-joined our Club on the 18 January 2013 and during this three year spell, he won the BOV Premier League, the FA Trophy and twice the BOV Super Cup. In this period he made a total of 103 appearances in all competitions.
