BOV Premier League - Birkirkara FC 1-2 Mosta FC
by Ayrton Galea - 14th April 2019Birkirkara FC suffered their second consecutive defeat in the BOV Premier League as they lose further ground on finishing in the top-four after conceding a 2-1 defeat against Mosta FC.
Coach Mark Buttigieg made just one change from the last match against Hibernians FC as Marcelo Henrique recovered from the knock suffered against Sliema Wanderers FC and replaced Luke Montebello.
The Stripes registered the perfect start as they surged ahead after three minutes. Jorge Pereira flicked the ball in the direction of Marcelo Henrique who produced a dazzling run and hit a low shot past goalkeeper Andreas Vella.
Mosta made the score level on the seventy-fifth minute. Substitute Zachary Brincat received the ball on the left side and did fine movement towards the centre and hit a fine shot that surprised goalkeeper Andrew Hogg.
The Blues completed the comeback five minutes later. Akeem Garnet Roach anticipated Clayton Failla and sent an excellent low cross in the path of N'Guessan Davy Angan who hit home from close range.
