Under-17's Team suffer third consecutive defeat

Birkirkara FC Under-17's Team suffered the third consecutive defeat in the APS Bank Under-17's League Section A, when two goals in the first half gave Mosta FC a 2-0 victory.

The Stripes opened well and created some opportunities to take the lead but Mosta went ahead mid-way through the first half through a Calvin Camilleri direct free-kick. The same player doubled Mosta's lead five minutes later when he converted a penalty kick.

In the second half, the Stripes searched for the goal to get back into the game but Mosta defended well. The best scoring opportunity came fifteen minutes into the second half when Ayrton Attard's free-kick beat the Mosta goalkeeper, but his effort smashed onto the crossbar.
