Under-19's Team book their place in the Knockout Final
by Ayrton Galea - 28th April 2016Birkirkara FC Under-19's Team advanced to the Knockout Final and they will face Sliema Wanderers FC, after they came from behind and overcome the challenge of Section E side Marsaxlokk FC with a 3-1 score thanks to a goal each by Clint Zammit, Matthew Guillaumier and Prince Ukenyi on Tuesday evening.
Marsaxlokk surged ahead mid-way the first half as they took the lead by their Brazilian player, Alain Pierre Courtadon. The Blues managed to keep their narrow lead until the half-time whistle.
The Stripes made an instant reaction in the second-half and it took them just one minute to equalise thanks to Clint Zammit. Matthew Guillaumier turned the score in Birkirkara's favour with a long-distance shot on the forty-eighth minute before substitute Prince Ukenyi sealed the issue with the third goal ten minutes from time.
Birkirkara will now play against Sliema Wanderers in the Knockout Final. The match will be played on Thursday, 13 May at the Centenary Stadium and it is scheduled to kick off at 19:00.
