Under-19's Team defeated by Valletta in seven-goal thriller
by Ayrton Galea - 15th December 2014Birkirkara FC Under-19's Team had a three-goal comeback but it was not enough to take something from the match, as Valletta FC scored a last second goal, to win the dramatic match with a dramatic 4-3 result.
Following a shaky start, the Stripes fell three goals behind, but an excellent three-goal comeback thanks to goals by Shawn Deguara, Kurt Zammit and a direct free-kick by Russell Gatt De Raffaele levelled the score. However, Valletta notched the winner on the fourth minute of added time to leave the Centenary Stadium with maximum points.
Birkirkara will be involved in the next match on 15 January 2015, when they take on Pembroke Athleta FC. The match will be played at the Charles Abela Stadium and is scheduled to kick off at 20:15.
