A party atmosphere hit the Centenary Stadium in the evening as Birkirkara were going to lift the much awaited cup, but not before the Stripes gave another empathic display to end the season with another impressive victory. A victory which meant a new record set, by being the team that won most points in a season in the history of the competition.

Kurt Zammit, the team's top scorer, was once again Birkirkara's hero on the day. The promising forward, gave an outstanding performance by scoring all the four goals to end his goal tally on twenty-one gaols.

The First Half

Birkirkara's fast-flowing football rewarded them with an opener inside the first fifteen minutes. Kurt Zammit's run unzipped Melita's rearguard, then picked a fine through ball by Antoine Borg, rounded the goalkeeper, and had a routine task to slot home

Boosted by the opening goal, the Stripes remained superior and they did not take long to add a second goal. In a situation much alike the first goal, Jonathan Licari passed to Kurt Zammit with a fine through ball, with the Under-19's prolific striker once again keeping his cool to beat the goalkeeper with a diagonal shot.

Kurt Zammit continued with his excellent form in front of goal, and five minutes from the half-time, the forward completed his hat-trick. Zammit collected a through ball, this time by Antoine Borg, before hitting a low shot that beat the goalkeeper.

The end of the first half found the Stripes leading by three, thanks to Kurt Zammit's hat-trick.

The Second Half

Birkirkara went out aggressive, and after just three minutes, they added their fourth goal. Kurt Zammit hit a powerful strike from inside the box that smashed against the crossbar and the ball went in goal.

With four goals up, and three points in the bag, Birkirkara remained superior and went near with several scoring opportunities, but the score remained unchanged. They continued to control the match easily till the end of the ninety minutes.

The referee's full-time whistle launched Birkirkara's celebrations, that saw their hard work being rewarded.
