Under-19's maintain impressive winning streak

Birkirkara Under-19's Team continued to establish themselves as the unstoppable side in the Youths' League Section A when on Thursday evening, they chalked up their impressive tenth consecutive win streak by beating bottom-placed, Floriana FC.

A goal by Russell Gatt De Raffaele after just one minute handed Birkirkara another three precious point to maintain their comfortable lead at the top of the table.

The first half could not start better for Birkirkara as they surged ahead thanks to a stunning strike from outside the box by Russell Gatt Da Raffaele. With Birkirkara quickly in the lead, they continued to show superiority and they held their narrow lead till the end of the first half.

In the second forty-five minutes, the match turned into a drab encounter as scoring opportunities proved to be rare, despite Birkirkara still enjoying an edge over their opponents for long stretches. However, the Stripes controlled the match in a comfortable manner, and they held strong to register their tenth consecutive victory.

The Stripes will now face Naxxar Lions in the next match of the Youths' League Section A. The match is going to be played on 6 February at the Centenary Stadium and is scheduled to kick off at 18:00.
